On Monday evening Christmas came early for one young local boy. The members of WVFD welcomed the boy to a real treat with gifts and a ride in a fire truck. The members made donations out of their pockets to help a little boy have a enjoyable Christmas. The group spearheaded by Chief Balderson and his wife Joanne adopted the young boy to help his family at Christmas. Monday evening the boy was invited to the department to see the fire trucks but inside were toys wrapped up for the boy to open. At the same time his moms car was being filled with toys and clothes for him to open on Christmas morning that were bought with the firemen donations. To see this kid coming running into the firehouse with so much joy is one thing but to see him leave with an even bigger smile and happiness made it well worth it.
