Fire Apparatus vs. Dump Truck

 October 24, 2010

pEngine Co. 2 was dispatched tonbsproutenbsp3 for a MVA with entrapment. Further information revealed that a fire apparatus from a neighboring county was involved. Rescue Engine 22 arrived on scene to find a Fire Rescue SUV versus a dump truck with heavy damage. One patient was still in the vehicle. Dispatched assigned Engine Co. 3 for the LZ. Engine 22s crews quickly stabilized the vehicle and began assessing the patient. Crews removed the entire drivers side. The patient was removed from the vehicle and handed over to M-3. The patient was transported by ground to Mary Washington Hospital per patient choice. The patient suffered non-life threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. One other patient was transported to Riverside Tappahanock Hospital by M-2.ppApparatus – Rescue Engine 22 Response 2 Tanker 2 Utility 5 M-3 M-2 CDVFD Attack 32 Rescue 3 Response 3 WCSO VSPp
